Privacy policy

The short version

statenumbers.com is a static website. It does not require an account, and the comparison tools run entirely in your browser. We do not ask you to submit personal information to use the site.

What runs in your browser

The comparison calculator computes results locally from data embedded in the page. The income figure you enter is calculated in your browser and is not sent to our application or data APIs. The site may store your last comparison in the page URL so you can share or bookmark it; take care when sharing a URL that contains an income amount.

Analytics

We load a privacy-oriented analytics script from stats.kzfm.comto understand aggregate use of the site, such as pages viewed and referring sites. As with any web request, that provider may receive technical information needed to deliver the script, including your IP address, browser, device information, and the page requested. We do not intentionally send the income you enter in the comparison tool to analytics.

The calculator itself does not need cookies or local storage to work. Third-party services may process information under their own policies; review the provider's information before using the site if you have questions about that processing.

Data we publish

The statistics shown are drawn from public US government sources (BEA, US Census Bureau, BLS) and hand-curated records (tax data via the Tax Foundation). See Sources.

If this changes

There is currently no advertising code on the site. If advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated before ads are served to describe the advertising providers, data use, and available privacy choices. Where a consent or choice flow is required, it will be provided through the advertising platform's applicable tools.
